I'm basing this off nothing really, but yeah I do. Gotta happen sometime right? Vax rates look good up there, and that seems to be their biggest concern.

I don't think so, but maybe.

Seems to be a surge in parts of the states and Trueduex (sp) seems to watch that stuff.

hope so, and I think it will.. due to pressure from both sides, Trudeau will have a tough time not following through unless something crazy happens in the next 30 days ..I already made plans for September anticipating it'll be open !

Story on NPR mentioned August or September and you will need proof of vaccination.

Love fishing Canada but have no problem staying home. I have a 99.1% chance of surviving Covid. Shot is just that a shot. Doesn't even guarantee prevention and nobody knows what the long term effects are. We can however see what the short term effects are and they are many. My wife with an auto-immune disease cannot not risk getting the shot which means she cannot go and I won't go without her.

Funny how it's the un-vaxed that are filling up the hospitals; Delta variant up all over US among the un-vaxed. They are the ones keeping this thing dragging on and creating worse variants. My guess is this latest upward trend will keep things closed and cause further local shutdowns until folks shut off Fox and get some sense about themselves. This is Public Health, not Politics. m

Actually what’s keeping things down are the liberals with their fear mongering. Not the unvaxed. The unvaxed are wide open living their lives.

The vaccinated will protect those that cannot be vaccinated, and are the ones likely to suffer the most, if infected.

I don't think it will open... new variant's all of the time,...Delta, China, Woohaun variants, ect. How about the Muskie variant ?
plus being vaccinated doesn't mean #*#*e anymore...Remember "the so called experts"
said if you get the Vac. you could return to normal life.
Follow the science my arse!... what a crock ! The govt. lies every time they open their mouths.
No Canadian trips this year.
Just think how big and hungry those fish will be next summer

That is not the case in states like Arkansas and Utah, where the Republican governors are pleading with their citizens to get vaccinated. The reason is simple, their hospitals are filling with the unvaccinated.

??? Not sure at all, what you mean by this. The "liberal" 7 county metro area has a vaccination rate in the mid 70%s, of those 16 and older, and things have been pretty much back to normal for about a month and a half now, and infection rates are at the lowest they have been since the start of the pandemic, and holding flat.

There is a lot of media that would never report this. I blame the continued closed border on conspiracy media where it squarely belongs.

Please don't get vaccinated and stay state side. Less competition for me.

The Canadian Government announced that they will allow the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team back to play in Toronto on July 30th. However it sounds like there will be several safeguards in place.

I'm still of the opinion that all governments should do what they believe is for the over-all good of their country. I'm not qualified to make that judgement so I'll go along with the elected officials.

I vaguely remember when this all started that the elected officials said the lockdowns were only supposed to be 2 weeks? I also see that some of the officials are offering beer and lottery tickets for people to get the shot? Why can't folks just mind their own business. If you feel safe with the shot, fine. If others don't want it, that's fine to. It's there business. As far as Canada goes, I hope they do open because there are families up there that rely on the tourists to make a living. And what ever side you are on with this issue, I think we all agree that this has gone on for far to long. Kdawg

God forbid that free people have different opinions on different subjects. Hmmm...
I hope they open the northern border..... perhaps like our Southern border.

Get the shot or stay home south of the border. I sure don't want you at The Northwest Angle without a shot. I hope anyone without full vaccination is not allowed to cross into Canada. Stay home and fish where you don't need vaccination. I hope you are safe and healthy, but I don't want to see if you don't have full vaccination.

Probably still civil enough to avoid locking, but certainly veering into basement territory.

One thing these border status threads do, before people blow them up for freedom, is suggest that there's a group of US anglers who have decided to stop fishing muskies in Canada.

By the time the border opens this year the thread will have become "Which NWO launch still has enough water to get a boat in?"
