BRP announced today Evinrude has ceased operations building Evinrude outboad engines. More as the wire lights up.

They sure were in it for a long time bit of a shame. Weren't they tied to Johnson?

The news release indicated the Wisconsin plant where most were working will be repurposed. Hope they build snowmobile engines or utv/atvs there. They were a major employer in WI. The last recession almost took out Mercury, was living in Fond du Lac then and it was touch and go.

That was back in the olden days when it was Outboard Marine when they folded their tent Bombardier took over the Evinrude line and name

My dealer was Suzuki and Evinrude but dropped the Evinrude about 2 years ago his Dad had been with Evinrude since the 50's but said Suzuki was much better to work with besides outboards and atv's he sells a gazillion crotch rockets.
