A lot of common sense (that is sorely lacking today) in that article.

Cannot open the article without subscribing. Anyone give a brief summary of his message?

Shouldn't have to subscribe. Might just need to allow cookies, or temporarily turn off ad blocking.

Tried the link again, and this time the subscribe box came up, but I just clicked off to the side of the box, and it went away.

Generally speaking it is an interview with Dr Osterholm he is the expert on virus for Mn. He also is a fisherman he say go ahead and fish. Share a boat but he was hesitant to ride in the same vehicle on the way to the lake with someone you don’t live with.

Thanks, I tried several ways but was not able to read it. I was surprised that guides cannot work in WI, even with only one client, but maybe they worry about the client and guide riding together?

The subscribe pop-up came up the first time but not the second time I clicked on the link. Common sense just be smart about the public places you need to go to in order to fish. Having said that he doesn't believe this virus will be gone until 60-70% of the population has had it so he believes herd immunity will resolve.

I am not sure if the Star Tribute offers any free views, but you can also set you browser to incognito mode, which should allow you to view. Being outside is a wonderful way to manage during the pandemic (if social distancing). Fishing license sales are up 40% from last year in Minnesota, so I suspect our local lakes will be busy for the foreseeable future - until we get to that 70% immunity.

While a lot of people are hopeful for the vaccine, we have had many examples of most vaccines not being effective or taking far longer than we had hoped (as Dr. Osterholm has noted). The much more likely scenario is that we will uncover relatively effective treatments for the virus which will allow us to ease restrictions and limp through this until we reach a level of sufficient herd immunity (in about 2 years according to Dr. Osterholm).

I know exactly where Prairie Song Farm is located. Waterloo Creek flowing through there is a brown trout wonderland. Yes, it is a private 98 acres, but last I checked it was for sale. $1,750,000.
