| Was thinking of hitting it this year for Pike. Basically trolling around. The easiest for me would to be to stay at Fortune Bay Casino. Will I find decent fishing in that area or should I launch further East or West? Any help is appreciated. |

| You will find good pike fishing right in Everett Bay, next to the casino. That would be a great place to stay. There are weed beds scattered throughout the bay. Depth is fairly uniform across the bay, which would work nicely for trolling a shallow running rapala. Shorelines can be casted for pike as well.

Location: Delavan, WI | I've had some luck trolling A 10" Jake along deep rock walls and islands running it 40' back picked up a few nice pike in the 35-40" always a chance for a bonus muskie too although it's been a much better pike pattern |

Location: Chisholm, MN | I’ve caught quite a few very big pike while muskie fishing specifically in October. Most have come from the west end on rock reefs.. The big ones move shallow in October. |

Definitely a let down when one smashes your pounder in the late fall! I caught a 42 incher doing that on Halloween. Even though it's a trophy, I wish it was a muskie. |

Location: Minnesota. | You're lucky to be staying around that end of the lake. Weeds...make the most of 'em.
Should you venture out a bit, get "familiar" with points you're going to fish mainly b/c when it gets windy the fish get to feeding more as you well know but if you hook up you'll need to know how far you can let yourself drift so you avoid any od-ball rocks that will get you into trouble! No fun on Vermilion!
I like that lake best when it's low clouds or rainy then lastly windy! You just gotta be aware of those danged rocks...I have a glass boat it's a real factor.
That lakes a great "weight-loss" program in itself. You sometimes (most times!!) get a real workout w/o worrying about the need to clean fish! But when you do get lucky...it's usually worth the ride! |

Location: Walker, MN | I'm the least qualified person to comment on Vermilion..when I was going to school in Ely '94-'96, we caught and released quite a few 38"-41" Pike in the mouth of Everett's bay October, trolling and ripping 10" Suicks. Probably way different now. |
