Ranger trail trailer. All three side marker lights on one side work. On the other side the front yellow marker works but the yellow marker light on the front of the fender and the red marker light on the back of the fender and the running tail light are out. All brake and turn signals work.

I’m thinking must be a short someplace AFTeR the front side marker light, but that’s as far as I can deduce. how Much rewiring am I looking at? Replace the first leg to the second marker light, then the second leg to the red running light on the fender, then replace the run to the tail light, etc, until I fin the culpret?

I hate trailer wiring.

If it had a short you would have blown a fuse and none of the markers would work.Suspect bad bulbs or bad grounds at the inoperative bulbs.

I'd guess where your front marker light connector is sliced into the main wire has broken the main wire running along that side. They use what's called a tap splice wire connector.

Hiya,

I'd suspect a broken wire and/or dirty contacts...

I'd start by taking a test light and check the connections on the dead lights. If no power, you know you have a wire issue... Work back toward the front and find the issue...splice, etc. and you are done...

Thanks. Will start by the first working light on that side and work back.

When lights begin to fail it's time to replace all the wiring. Then replace faulty lights.
