I’ve been working on this all winter.
A 8.5” muskie swimjig with an extended 8/0 hook and bottom loop for adding an optional bottom treble stinger held in place with a MI magnet. The magnet is barely strong enough. Hook comes off on cast but then reattached during retrieve 99/100 times. The magnet allows for a stinger set way back without having to imbed a hook point and destroy the trailer. The loop also has a tag end that holds the trailer in place. Thanks for looking.

Have you though about using a dental rubber band to hold the trailer hook in place?

Thanks for the comments guys.
Dental rubber band is a cool idea. I like it.
For now - I am hoping the magnets will work. I also have little screw in eyelets but they will eventually tear a hole in plastic too. I was planning on making some stronger magnets of my own maybe.

That is also a great idea. I will fiddle with both things - elastic and shrink tubing.
Thanks guys.

Don't know the volume of lures you will be making but last year at a musky seminar on live bait fishing, guide Rob Manthei of St. Germain told how he used those bands in the rig he makes for suckers that his clients use. He got them from a wholesaler who sells to dentist and said he got something like a thousand of them for really great price.

Just my 2 cents but you just might have a patentable idea there.

I’ll take 10 please. Seriously though those look sweet, swim jigging is one of my favorite techniques regardless of species. I’ve been using dirty jigs no jack swim jigs for a long time and they have a hook plenty stout to throw for musky, it’s as heavy a wire or heavier than you will find on any musky bait, but the issue is you can only throw about a 5” swimbait at the most on the back due to its size. I’ve been wanting a musky style swim jig for a long time but the ones on the market just never gave me any confidence so I’ve stuck with the Dirty Jigs. Seriously if you were ever interested in selling some I’ll take as many perch color ones as you will sell.

Awesome job Landry!

What’s the weight on the jig heads. Do you offer different weight heads?

Hopefully those creature Spins got you a fish or 2...

I will be making some again if u want some then message me here or on Facebook. (Landry Smith)
JD - got a few nice fish on your jigs. Like them a lot. Super unique presentation
Mine is very different obviously - 1.3oz head and extended 8/0 hook.
I am carving a master for a twin tailed grub that I can swim on it and flutter it down into pockets.

Like to see your split tail. Been pouring quite a few Frogs, and half Sluggo design Splitails Recently.

That Sluggo Design might be Exactly What your looking for. Nicely Tapered for coming through weeds.

Designed this couple years ago. Heard Guys fishing this splitail for Big Bass R Liking This down South.

 Skis R liking them also!

I will post a pic when done.
Have an idea for totally weedless setup too with a Mustad 4807 hook(9/0) if it is strong enough
