His name wouldn't happen to be Cliff Clavin, would it?

Oh, yeah. Have heard that line many times. They can't quite explain why bass populations are taking off at the same time walleyes in northern WI are falling. But, the muskies are without doubt the blame for decline of walleye. Every bar in the Northwoods has a resident fisheries expert that will be happy to tell you all about that. Well, they are happy until you suggest, maybe, just maybe, that it is climate change and gradual overall warming of waters that is causing rise in bass populations at the same time walleye numbers are falling. Then they get a little less happy.

So true unfortunately. Had to go to town for blood tests to see if I could get my chemo. While driving to the clinic passed a group of about 20 hanging out skateboarding and biking, no social distancing going on. Unfortunately not an uncommon sight. Until people follow the suggestions, the disease will be with us a long time. Just my 2 cents.

Saw where Milwaukee County closed beaches and playgrounds for just that reason. My son lives 4 blocks from Grant Park which has a nice beach on Lake Michigan and he predicted they would close it because of the way people were gathering in groups. The Darwinian effect could take of that 20, but unfortunately they will infect many more if one of them has the virus. The way this virus spreads is scary. A choir group in Washington state met on March 10 for choir practice. They knew there was a risk but met anyway, the only change was no hand shakes or hugs. No one was coughing, sneezing. A little over 2 weeks later 45 of the 60 members had tested positive, 2 were dead and 1 was in critical condition. The authorities were just beginning to trace all the folks they came in contact with.

This will be with us until a vaccine is available. I get the feeling people think that everyone will be OK after April 30th and the distancing rules are lifted. Unfortunately, the virus will still be with us and there will likely be a second surge. Once the stay at home restrictions are lifted. I don’t want to stay in my house until the vaccine is available but I’m nervous about getting around others.
