I'll try again and simplify. Just what to know how effective Minn Kota spot lock is say with 10 - 15 MPH winds? To be possible used with 55 LP trust bow mount.
Thks,

It will depend on what boat you are putting it on. I have a 80 lb Terrova on a 21 ft Stratos and vertical jigged crappie a few days ago in 15 mph winds and white caps. Have had zero issues with it holding me right on the spot I want it to.

Wave size is probably more important than wind, but it works fine for me in nasty conditions. Even if the trolling motor keeps coming out of the water. If you're going to camp a spot for a long time, you'll save your batteries if you run your kicker to help out.

Spot lock is the best addition to your boat you can add Imo.Holds great. The newer the motor the better the GPS in the unit.

Ultrex holds either of our Lund's in 25 MPH locked on the spot, no issue.

Biggest improvement I've added to my ride.

Very impressed with the spot lock on the 80# Terrova that's mounted on my Esox Magnum.

I run a 36 volt system on my Ranger 619. Terrova. It holds us just fine in big wind out on the bay when trying for walleyes and smallmouth. And my trolling motor is old.
Sometimes it is too windy to stand on the decks and fish, so we are on the bottom of the boat fishing over the side. Terrova holds just fine.
Yah, it is a great thing to have, no doubt.

Ultrex 112 holds my boat till the waves keep the prop cavitation is to much, so 30+ mph winds.

power-drive options come with spot-lock, big difference is power-drive you have to choose either remote controls or foot pedal control not both like the Terrova.

Thks for the input - feedback guys. The Terronva with I-pilot and spot lock looks like it would a choice for my Lund. It turns out one can order it with an optional foot pedal as well. Just curious guys if using spot lock with ~ 12/mph winds how close to the spot have your boat stayed locked. Minn Kota says they guarantee < 5'?

Mine is super tight spot lock range. It is worth every Penney. Best purchase I ever made for my boat.
