| Been reading where the EcoBoost engines have been having problems now they have been out for a little while. Any first hand info? |

| Any problems were corrected in the last generation update in 2017. I've had zero issues. |

| I have a 2013. When they first came out until early 2013 they had timing chain issues had mine replaced at 60,000 miles. Have t heard of any real issues since then |

| "Ecoboost" in F150's can be the 2.7 or the 3.5 liter. The 2.7 had quite a few problems at release but the 3.5 has a very good track record. The 3.5 is a very versatile motor for Ford and has been configured at many different HP outputs, up to and over 700 HP.
I have 3 (of the 3.5 liter) in the fleet and no problems with any since new. |

Location: NE Ohio | i had a 2013 now i got a 2018. both 6 cyl's. 3.5L. put 105k on the 2013 no issues. got 18k on the 2018 and no issues so far. both get great gas mileage and tow my lund 1875 easily. went with the 2018 to get the aluminum advantage to prevent any rusting. |

| 2011 original 3.5 ecoboost here. 167k miles and no issues outside of the timing chain stretching (common problem with the first year). the new 3.5's where designed from the ground up so I imagine they're solid. I'll be upgrading in the next year. |

Location: Duluth | Just the issues that any car/truck with a turbo has. From my buddies that own them, turbos seemed to be more of a gen 1 issue, everyone that has one newer than 2013 hasn't had a single issue. |

| My Eco boost runs fine 2014 3.5. Pulls my Lund like it's not even there. Gas milage is about the same as a V8 while towing. If I towed long distances I would get the V8. The V8 has more torque and doesn't work as hard as the Eco 6s On a long pull. |

Location: Wisconsin | I have a 19' F150 with 2.7 and i can say i like the engine much more than the 2014 GMC sierra 5.3 that i had. More torque and pulls my 18' boat better. Took it out west with a loaded trailer and didn't notice any performance issues or major drop in fuel mileage. pulling my boat i get anywhere from 12.5-15 and empty 19-26. Fuel mileage alone it crushes the 5.3 gmc, pending any major issues I will buy another one. |

These vehicles are so good now, you can't go wrong either way. My previous truck was a Ford, and I loved that truck. My neighbors has a 4 or 5 year old Ford that he pulls his camper (pretty big one) with, and I really like his truck and would be perfectly happy with it. He gets really good mileage with it. I went with the Silverado a year and a half ago, because one of my former wrestlers from my high school coaching days, is now the sales manager at a Chevy dealership, and he said he would take care of me, and he did. I really like this truck as well, and am very happy with it. Great mileage, particularly towing my 18 ft. aluminum boat. Don't even know it's there, and could comfortably tow much more. Go drive both, and pick the one that has the best deal or feels most comfortable to you. You'll be happy either way |

Location: Lebanon,Mo | Been a Ford fan all my life. Have the 2018 2.7L in my F150 and love the motor. Great fuel mileage,and will flat haul a## empty or loaded. Pretty cool to set the cruise at 75 on the Interstate and only run 1800 rpm's. |
