Well I know I am bringing up a old subject but here we go again! For musky baits wood or plastic..........KBS or Etexlite. or other epoxy or coatings. Your favorite!

if you like the thicker coatings, true coat is the best I've tried. some baits are better off with the thin coatings as mentioned.

Etex works just fine--there is a learning curve and you need a wheel to keep the baits moving. I have used it many times with excellent results----True Coat works the same way--and I have used it also--seems to be a little more forgiving on the mixture ratio--and it does smooth out nicely---Both are similar and you will be fine either way.-------If you are going to do plastic baits--and also many wood baits--why not just spray on the topcoating ? works easy and same type of result--many lures were designed to use the thinner spray coatings... you can use like 3 coats to build up the topcoat----

I’ve tried just about all the ways to clear coat a lure over the years.  From rattle can lacquers, to 2k automotive clears, and most of the epoxy systems out there.  A couple years ago True Coat epoxy came onto the market.  For the small batch basement builder, I think True Coat is the best available right now.  It’s very durable, very easy to work with, no bubbles, and it makes the baits you put it on look like they were dipped in glass.  You can put it on thick or thin, these baits just have 2 thin coats of it.
