Hey everyone, I have a few days planned with my family on little boy lake the first week in August.  We have never been up here before and were pretty excited about the trip.  I will be fishing muskies as much as I can but will have limited time with the kids along.   The majority of my fishing time will be after dark when the kids have went to bed. I am looking for a little info about the lake if anyone is willing to help out I would appreciate it.

1         I see that the lake has produced some nice fish but what is the overall muskie population like?

2         What types of structure should I expect to see? – I don’t have a map yet but will be picking one up before the trip.

3         Im also looking for information on crappie, perch, and walleye fishing.  Any tips to get the kids and wife on some fish would be great!

4         And as always if any locals are willing to share some common patterns/baits/colors/depths ect. I would appreciate the PM

Thank in advance to anyone that takes the time

I spent some time on LBL for the first time late June 2016, so I am by no means an expert, but I hope to help answer your questions.

-I saw numerous fish last year, all between the mid 30's and low 40's
-Weed growth is most expansive on the NW side and the main bay on the east side
-Lots of hard bottom points and shorelines
-Bulrushes
-Cover lots of water and don't forget open water
-Rock bass will keep the family entertained and there's good smallie action (I wish I would have spent more time chasing smallies)

Good luck!

-Ken

Just saw this.Nice lake, lot's of structure I didn't appreciate many decades ago when I fished it.Got my first 50 ever there back in the ice age.Can only imagine how it's changed since then but have to say, check out the bullrushes/reeds now n then.Especially in the afternoons.

Only lake where I saw what happens when a muskie takes a duckling! Happened outside of what used to be Wolf Lodge looong time back now...mid 80's. She snatched it just outside of the reeds, west side of the small bay from the lodge.
