Looking to add a touch longer rod. I'm familiar with the St. Croix and Thorne's customs being some of the favorites, I have several Legend Tournament rods...but there are a lot more companies in the rod game now and wondering if some of them are making some good alternatives.

Looking for your new standard do all kind of rod. Capable of 10's and Mag Rubber type stuff. Kind of prefer telescoping or even a 2 piece if there is a good one.

I used to have a few of the Okuma EVX in 9'3'' - they were a nice rod and they telescope.

I have also heard decent things about the Garcia Fantasista Beast. Looks like they come in a 9'1'' and 9'7''.

With that being said, they won't compare to a TB Predator.

I have a 9'8" XH predator. Sinead O'Connor said it best, "Nothing compares to you!" Bite the bullet. You will not be sorry. The rod I currently own is my 2nd predator. I sold the original with syncork because I hated the way it felt.

I'm a big fan of the 10'6" Tackle Industries XXH rods. I build my own, and have built about a dozen so far for friends and family. They handle big blades and rubber with ease, and the figure 8's are unreal!

I have the TI XXH 10 ft tele and it handles big rubber and blades well. Just picked up a 10 ft XH for smaller stuff.

TI has been selling the 9' plus rods for over a year now. Not one returned or exchanged yet. Guys love them!

Love my TI rods, XXH and XH will throw almost anything. Best all around rods in my opinion for the money.

Had a custom 9'6" built on a TI 9' XH blank and it broke 6" from the tip.
Builder shored up the break, removed a guide, put a tip on it, and it's by far my favourite all-around'r right now.
With one of the new Komodo 463's on it, it'll throw anything from a 6" balsa twitchbait to a mag dawg.
Could be the rod, reel, or marriage of the two ~shrug~
I wish i knew how to quite that combo..
