I'm new to this whole smart phone thing, yeah I know....and I was wondering if there are any apps that have good lake maps for android users.

Thanks,

Navionics, US/Canada... $10, worth it, especially for ice fishing. I use it on my Samsung.

Do you need to have cell service at the time for it to work? I fish a lot of places with no service.

You don't need service but you will need to look at the lake while you have internet so the app downloads and saves the map data. Once you view a lake it's saved to the app.

But can you see where you are on the map?
