Love your videos. Very well done.

I fish for pike in Canada, (Northwest Territories and Manitoba) a few times a year. I am always looking for lures that are different.

What exactly is a Twistfly and is there any way to purchase them from the US?

Thank you,
Talmooner

A twistfly is a creation of myself. I made it about 9 years for the first time. It is a streamer build on a bucktail coil. It depends on the type, i use leaded and unleaded springs to build on it. So i can fish it in very shallow waters and the weighted versions can i bring to 5 till 6 feet deep. It depends also how fast i fish this lure. When you fish it fast it always comes back in the upper water level. But they are perfect to fish over the weeds and drop down al little bit. That is for the basic, it exist on a spring with bucktail, 2 gills of flash (for the show). And a epoxy head. Behind the spring i made a frame with the twintail twister on it. Unluckely this twisters are out of production. They where called Jeltex Twintails. So if you know any shop who sells this lures. Please tell me. The twisters are just like a formula X. I thought it was called in the US. That is the only disadvantage I can tell about the twisters because the most run really smooth in the water. And what every piker know, every twister catch pikes. So bucktail and twister must be a nr1 combination.

I catched al lot of 100cm till 127cm pikes on it. (40" to 50") So after these years I can say that it is an effective lure. But like always, sometimes are other lures better options for different approach. And it is also reasonable you catch the most of the fishes when you fish the most of a time with it. I dont know if i can place a photograph on the forum. What I say, I dont want to spam here. I like also jerkbaiting, flyfishing, spinfishing and when it is really hard fishing there is always a bulldawg or other big gum

Awesome fish. If you do a lot of solo fishing like that look into getting a robo-handle for your net. Much easier to handle.

Congrats.

Thanks for the explanation on the Twistfly. Based on what you described, I may try building a few myself.

"Zoom" and "Mister Twister" make soft baits that look similar to the Jeltex, but as far the plastic from which they are made being similar, I can not say. I use Mister Twister as a trailer for spoons and jigs. You should be able to find them on Amazon.

Again thanks for all your help and good fishing.

Here is a video I put together the other day. Just something to help get through the off-season. Nothing to flashy, let me know your thoughts! Highlights from the 2016 season, here in Minnesota.

I hope I am posting this properly? Here is a video I have made recently of some longtime childhood friends that never had been on a major outing before and I was able to provide a fun experience for them. I was able to utilize my drone for some neat perspectives and underwater action taken as well.

Lac seul? Guessing that because you put the walleye on ice.

Actually not Lac Seul. Just a fan of how good the meat is on them when instantly iced down. Hope you liked the video?

Here's some footage from last season in MN, though I'm not the best videographer.

It was REALLY odd. She appeared to be following my buddy's bait, then just surfaced. She dove straight down after that and left a consistent trail of bubbles for about 15 seconds.

Some alternate species:
A mongolian taimen has been on my bucket list for some time now. If i ever find myself in Slovenia in winter I would totally fish for their smaller cousins though
