Fished Eagle Lake with my son, brother and his son a couple of weeks ago out of North Shore Lodge. My son, who just started fishing muskie last year, got his first tiger. a 43"er. He is hooked big time and cant wait to go back. One week a year is not enough!! I posted a 5 minute video of the trip. Yes, my brother almost hits the camera with his bucktail at one point.

There has not been a lot of reports out of Eagle this year. It is either a good thing or a bad thing?

Would be nice to go up in the fall. There have been good weeks and slow weeks up there. Like any lake I guess.

Great video. I assume a drone was used to film the overhead shots, may I ask what type?

Does the drone transmit video in real time or wait until it's landed and down load?

I'm not sure of any other info out there, but watching the Gillespie show on Eagle filmed 8/19, I recall they commented on mixed weather and results recently.

That said, taking into account some possible editing, it looks like they had a three fish day with action on several others.

Hey hodag, I was using a dji phantom 3 standard which is a " entry level" quad copter. I am more than happy with it. Very easy to fly. The video is recorded on a micro memory card on the copter, but it can also store realtime video on your viewing device. You can supposedly live steam video but I haven't tried. I was using an ipad4 mini to view what the quad copter saw in realtime. Regular smartphones work too but I like the bigger screen to see what I might fly into. I got over 2000 feet away while buzzing some of the lodge boats. (Yes, I knew who they were and they got a kick out of it......I think lol).

Johnnysled, yeah the storm coming in was from a GoPro from our cabin. Drydens main road was closed after that storm I heard. The video doesn't show how much rain we got right after that.mjust us making a beeline to the lodge to get away from the lighting.

Great video, I always have trouble getting the pics inserted to where it flows from video to pic back to video. I am heading up to Eagle Friday, hopefully fish are turned on while I am there.

Nice video! I was at Eagle (Birchdale Lodge and mostly in Vermilion Bay area) probably around the same time as you. We didn't see as many fish as last year at the same time, but did manage to get 4 muskies in the boat in 4 days as well as a 35 3/4" pike. Was also a little slow for the other Musky group at our camp during the same time.

Heading up to AML the last week in October, first week in November...I've never gone that late in the season. Anyone who has...other than "bring your mittens", any thoughts?

posted reports june and july, sorry about missing anything recent. to be honest AML has been swamped through aug with 100%+ full cabins and guests and julian, nicky, the staff, everyone incl my self have been running day and nite. eagle was awesome opener through 2nd week of aug. the past 2 weeks since a heat wave and a cool down which i expected to crank everything up has been generally tougher with fewer/less fish showing and but a higher than normal strike per encounter ratio, higher than i've seen in quite a while and most out not at the boat but alot of on and offs, nippers, slappers, etc. the last 2 weeks with roughly 60% multi species 40% musky fishermen we've only been avging 2-3 50's in camp per week where many times in aug that can be normal per day.i expect it to be a small bump in the road and move into an awesome fall bite shortly.
the show last week with gillespie and pete,we only had 1 day and not a full day like we usually do from 7;30 to dark but still managed to boat 3,lost 3,had 8 other fish up including 2 double follows.
the incident brought up...was not planned or chorographed, nor edited out obviously,it just happened. dont know what came over me but we sure as hell laughed alot and had a ball that day.one reason why it is so much fun to do shows that way. spontaneous and for real. it is what it is.if we had only gotten 1 fish that is what you would have seen. not 3-5 days made into 20 minutes. and yes he does get that excited after all those years and shows.
i'll get an up to date report out...watch for it shortly.

Thanks Jeryb. Yeah, we had a good time, we didn't get any pigs but we got some action and everything was over 40". I don't have the opportunity to get out a lot so any time is appreciated. Especially with my kids. Scott Jaeger does a great job helping the rug rats too.

How does the no night fishing work? Is it no lines in water 30 minutes after sunset or do you have to be off the water?
