Posts: 1516 | When using the motor during a week of fishing vacation about midweek the prop would not turn when it was initially dropped. However, if I left the CON button down on the pedal it would eventually start to turn but acted like it was starting and stopping in rapid succession then it would smooth out and run normally. This happened at about half the stops. In addition the I Pilot remote showed the prop turning when it wasn't. Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so what did u do to correct it?

Posts: 546 Location: MN | Yes it will, because you are breaking the seals on the lower unit and it cannot be guaranteed that who is working on the motor has the specific knowledge or parts necessary to repair the motor (other than an authorized service center).

Its either a leaky seal or your armature is shot. Seal at service center is $60 fix. Armature replacement will run you $160. I just picked up my fortrex and had pretty similar issue in my case it was the armature.
