The lake I fish usually seems to be a small bait lake, even in fall..... so I was thinking about using pike suckers instead of bigger "musky suckers" in the fall. Just looking to see if anyone has done that (I'm assuming people have) and what the pros/cons would be. Thanks

If you have used them, also wondering how you went about rigging them for musky as they are smaller.

How about using pike instead of suckers? Similar shape, easy to catch, and they seem to do well in high temps. And as far as I know legal to do in wisconsin. So many videos out there, pike being caught while muskie strikes. Just wondering.

Search "musky snacks" on YouTube. Bigfish365 did a video on using small suckers. I use a rig similar to theirs except I use seven strand wire and circle hooks.

Big suckers have been hard to get and very expensive the last few yrs so I have used suckers as small as 10 -12 inches. They work fine. I would keep the hardware to a minimum and just use one treble hook on a small sucker. Two hooks would be overkill. Be sure to set the hook quickly as a musky can inhale a small sucker quite easily.
