Anyone have any feedback?

Looking at a 1775 side console.

Comes with a 90HP but thinking about upgrading to a 115.

Thoughts?

1850 XS w/ a 150 here. Awesome boat. These hulls get on plane very easy so you would be fine with the 90 but if it were me I would get the 115.

I have the 1675 SS (side console) and like it for the most part, but I find it's just too light. With relatively high sides and weighing only 1125 lbs., it's like a cork in the water on a windy day, making boat control at low speeds extremely difficult. (I walleye fish a lot, so this issue is is a big minus in my book.) Since the 1775 is just a foot longer and 95 lbs. heavier, I've no doubt the same issue applies.

Mine has the Merc 90 hp. four stroke; with two guys and gear it tops out at 38 mph. (Yes, go with the 115) It's surprisingly stable in waves and the handling is excellent. If money were no object, I'd definitely go with a glass boat, but you'll find the Impact a good boat at an excellent price.

I have the same boat you are looking at, and I love it. 125 is the max on the boat, so I went with the 125 OptiMax. I've been very happy with it so far (2014).

I have one three years now. Several improvements could be made by Lund.

Interior lighting poor, redid mine completely
Wind is not your friend for accurate boat control
Lockers leak when it rains hard
Wiring under dash is very difficult to access
Floor is extremely slippery when wet or slimy, carpeted bow is great
Will not take rods greater than 8 ft. in the rod locker
Merc 115 uses more gas than comparable Yamaha and takes longer to reach plane

I have boated well over a hundred muskies in this boat, but in a year or two I will be looking. Works great in heavy water. Been in 6 ftrs on the Wood and felt very safe

Have fished many hours out of my brothers 1775 impact and really like the boat. A couple of issues stated above really sum up the drawbacks. When windy the boat feels like it has a sail. High sides and really light don't mix well with the wind. After 4 years the boat decks have warped and moved considerably creating difficulty opening some compartments and gaps in others. Please do yourself a favor and request fold down boat cleats. The cleat placement is prime for broken muskie rods. My brothers boat has claimed 3 and both of us are very conscious of it. I am still amazed though how well the boat handles and rides in big water for a light aluminum rig. Never worried about 3-4 footers.

I've had my 1875 since spring 2014 I've not had any deck warping issues or issues with compartments opening but it does get blown around in heavy wind but most aluminum boats with high sides will.

That's more than likely your propping. If your holeshot is slow you are over-propped, and that's very hard on fuel economy too. Try one pitch lower, as in if it's a 19, go to a 17. I t also could be the model of propeller as well, aluminum VS stainlesss, 3 blade VS 4, etc. Your tach should be reading nearly 6K WOT.

Scrub the floor with Dawn dish detergent once in awhile, that will help.

Have your dealer order a set of the fold-down cleats or you. I think I paid around $25 each for them. They also prevent tangled nets.

That deck has a lifetime warranty.

Mudpuppy,
What did you use to re-do the lighting?

Thanks.

Egort33, I used outdoor porch lights for a camper, purchased at my local RV store. One in front and one on the back did the trick, all tied to the switch on the dash. I also put a small light over the control switches on the dash so I can see them in the dark if I want to. Seems to me Lund could use some customer feedback.

Under the dash are wires in a spaghetti pattern. Would be nice to have a factory terminal block to work from.

If you wish to send Lund Boats some feedback about interior lighting, then do so! If you don't know who to reach out to, we can assist.

Keith and I work closely with Lund Boats and get to the factory several times a year (Yes, we own a Lund, a 2016 1750 Rebel XS SS with a 90 Merc). They are great people who truly care about the product they build all the way from the front office to the last person on the assembly line and would be happy to hear suggestions on improving the boats.

As you consider what you wish to suggest should be implemented in the Impact line, please keep in mind that what is desirable in a Lund model in the way of lighting, electrical, amenities, etc. might be standard or an option on the next model up. Check that out, too!

Drop me a PM if you want some contact info.

Just love my 1675 Sport. Compartments laid out in same place as Pro V were in the past. No dead space. Runs great, planes fast and good speed with the 90 HP 4 stroke. Great on gas with judicious use of throttle. Stable platform. Got the full canvas for spring trips up north. The pro trak and sport track are real nice. Got the optional seat / deck and really like the bigger casting deck and it positions everything like a table for tying, etc. shareit https://get-vidmateapk.com
