| I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a 10'6" xxh blank from James at TI. I have nothing but good things to report. I built it spiral wrapped with SiC titanium frame Fuji guides. The blank handles big blades and pounders with ease. Not to mention it handles fish too! The figure 8's with this blank are simply awesome, huge wide turns and easy on your back. I've let a few of my buddies cast it on recent trips and they were amazed by the ease of casting distance and again, the big 8's.

a side note, how do you feel the spiral wrap performs for casting ? always thought of it as a heavy saltwater jigging/trolling thing. |

| Zinox- I use spiral wrapped rods nearly exclusively. Any rod I build for myself will be spiral wrapped, I like the way they handle fish when they are hooked up. The spiral takes the torque out of the blank and keeps it from wanting to "roll" over. This is felt especially with a big fish when fighting it on a short line. Casting distance is equal to or better than conventional rods that I have used or built.
Pistolpete- the 10'6" shortens down to right about 9'. It hasn't felt too long at all, I love the extra length for figure 8's like I mentioned above. |

Yes on the bucktail rod and I think the XH is what you will want.
We will have three powers for each length: MH (1-4), XH (2-8) and the XXH pounder rods in the three lengths: 9'6", 10' and 10'6". They are all telescopic and will reduce in length by 18" when in the travel/storage position. Right now I have 50 of each rod but will up my inventory to 150-200 per rod model going into show season. Don't worry, I will have plenty of rods for my retailers to get to you guys  |

| I wouldn't hesitate to throw blades on the xxh. I've been throwing everything from 8's to 13's with mine. It casts them all well with the Tranx on it. |

Location: Land of the Musky | Long answer on price... My suggested MSRP will be $189.99 for my retailers. Going forward my TI website will have all TI musky, VEXAN bass and VEXAN walleye rods $5-$10 above MSRP so Tackle Industries will not "compete" against our retailers. The new 96, 10 and 106 rods on the TI website will be $199.99. Some of this is also that we have a flat rate $6 shipping and to ship a rod (example) to NY or PA its $22-$24 FedEx shipping. This will help with the shipping for us too plus we don't have any musky retailers out East at this time.
Right now I have the following retailers in the Midwest that want these rods immediately:
Both Smokey's shops in Wisconsin, Flambeau, Ross's Sports Shop and MTO. I will update the retailers as they contact me. I hope to have these rods ready to ship mid September and just in time for the Fall big pig season I will also work with M1/Steve on one sweet contest to introduce these rods. I plan on giving away a LOT of rods for the promo!!

New rods will have cork but you can also shrink wrap them with the X-Flock or X-Shrink material. I just did it to a few of my rods and love it! Got a few pcs off of eBay for cheap and just took a torch and shrunk it over the cork and used a sharp knife and trimmed the edges. |

| Just wanted to reiterate how great the new 10'6" TI musky rods are! Mine has handled everything I've thrown on it so far with ease and handles fish on the 8s and on the end of a cast with our flaw! A great product at a great price!!! |

Thanks for the update. Do you feel the xxh loads up pretty well casting bigger bucktails? I'm going to pick up one of the rods when they are available and I'm torn between the xh and the xxh. |

| I would definitely go xxh. Ive been throwing 8s up to 13s with it. Even threw a cannonball jr for a while on it. It loads well with all of them. I haven't used the xh, but think it might be a little soft for big blades in a figure 8. I have a PG Tranx mounted on it, and it has quickly become my go to big bucktail rod. I have a pair of St Croix "big nasty" rods that I use as well that each have a Tranx as well. They are lighter, but a foot and a half shorter so that's to be expected... I find myself picking up the 10'6" first almost every time out now. |

Location: Shawano, Wi | When will these rods come out I have two TI 9 ft rods one xh power rod and the XXXH power rods but those longer rods for bucktails would be nice. I also had a problem with XXXH power rod the very end of the handle snapped off is this a prevalent problem with these rods? |

| If the just cap came off just 5 min epoxy it back on and tape it up until it dries. Ive had this happen on a couple rods from different companies. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I've had that happen on different rods before. A little epoxy on the butt cap and standing the rod vertically on it's butt has always fixed it up for me. Launching heavy baits puts a lot of strain on that area so it isn't uncommon to have it loosen up.
I'm not sure if Locktite will do the job, unless it's the Locktite epoxy that you are using. |

Location: Shawano, Wi | It didn't loosen up its a split grip and the very end of the cork snapped off mid cast and you can see where the graphite actually snapped off on the very end it doesn't effect the rod one bit was still throwing pounders and bucketheads with ease I think the loctite apoxy will do the trick |

I find myself picking up the 10'6" first almost every time out now. How long did you build the rear grip? 16" is my comfort zone but it seems like that would be ridiculous on a 10'6" blank. Even 18" seems like it would be relatively short. |

| Mine is at 18.5" to the back of the reel seat. Split grips (foam), no fore grip. I also built a 9'6" xxh for my brother. His is split grip foam with a small fore grip. 19" to the back of the reel seat. |
