Posts: 99 | Waconia sure seems tough this year. I switched to tonka the last few times out. The few fish I have seen are on outside weed lines around 15-18 fow.

Posts: 386 | never thought i would pray for a cold front I'll second that lol. 77-79 in northern MN and the action really slowed down for me.....like over 30 hrs in the boat in 3 days and a few lazy follows to show for it. But on the brite side, I'm now tan and full of mosquito bites.

Posts: 400 Location: Metro | I haven't seen much this year on Tonka. Couple of follows but they have been very touchy. Also I haven't seen any with great size. Lake temps are getting to bathtub temps.

Posts: 833 | Those are surface temps. has anyone run a clinefinder to see the water column? I moved two on Tonka in the AM on Saturday. Erratic baits found the fish, one was aggressive, one was lazy. Surface Temps were 76-77 degrees east side. Clarity was down a bit, likely due to the storm. I have not been fishing nearly as much this year due to family/work commitments, only 2nd day on Tonka this season so I do not have much insight.

Posts: 62 Location: Minnetonka MN | Was on Tonka Tuesday night for a few hours. Water temps 80, dropping to 76 after sundown. Caught one pike, otherwise didn't see a muskie. 3 other boats nearby fishing muskie, they didn't see anything either.

Got a 3 footer this morning. Watched a 50 swim around for a solid 3 minutes with her head out of water. Hope to have her this week. One thing I've noticed over the years is that if the carp are jumpin , muskies are biting.

Posts: 829 Location: Maple Grove, MN | I don't think there is much going on anywhere around the metro. Seems the Muskies are in the middle of the yearly July slowdown. I'm going to try Leech this weekend to see if anything is moving up there.

Posts: 5 | Beginning of July was great on Tonka, I got my personal best 55.5" 43.44.5.42 July 5, had a hand in helping a kid to his first ever skie which was 54". I have boated 20 fish avg size 42". They are there just have to hunt them down. Water temp got warm. Went up north for a bit put boat back in yesterday and temp was 76 @ 8 am by 2 it was 78 so hopefully the temps start to stay below 80.
