average ice-out, April 27th - could be a little earlier this year, especially with some rain. Check out VDL's webcam, wolf bay is going to open soon.

Looking at the DNR stats, I'd say we're a week ahead of the median. Vermillion will prob be the week of April 22nd.

Well, this morning I was sitting in my truck looking at Sunday Lake here in Wakefield, most of the lake was still covered in ice just a path about 100 yards wide going out from the river of open water. It's been in the 70s and windy as heck today, just drove past it and almost the whole thing is open.

The ice took a beating this weekend. A few lakes around my house are totally clear now, even though late last week they looked like they still had at least a week of ice left.

Strong warm south winds has the ice moving on the LOTWs. Looks like it'll be an early ice out. Unlike last year the lake is very low. We need some rain!

So, would you guys that replied with reports call this an early spring/ice out for your lake or an average one? Just wondering.

Bemidji is a couple weeks early, it usually goes out around the 24th-26th of April.

We put the dock in at our cabin in Perham, (not to far north) but compared to the last few years this is early.
