Posts: 1262 Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Had an awesome day on some border lakes yesterday. Some of the nicest weather I can remember, gentle breezes ( unusual for me} and perfect temperatures. The water was unusually clear with visibility down to 12 feet. Water temps were 67 to 69 degrees in the afternoon. The fishing was decent also. 2 in the net and 2 follows, all between 2 and 4:30 in the afternoon. All the action came on one lure, a weagle, even though I tried numerous other presentations. The largest, a 42, completly T-boned the weagle and half its body came out of the water on the strike. Sure would have made a great picture, but it will remain in my head for a while. Posts: 101 | I found the fish to be pretty sluggish this weekend. Fished a couple hours each day and ended up with a 36, 30, and 32 for the weekend. ~Dawg

Posts: 264 | I was fishing for walleyes and bass on crane lake in voyageurs national park. Fishing was good. While i was fighting a smallie a 45 inch musky came and t-boned it! Unfortunately it let go after a few seconds. When i brought the smallie into the boat it had gashes all over but still lived. Fun weekend.

Posts: 829 Location: Maple Grove, MN | I was fishing Pike on Minnetonka Saturday with my ten year old daughter. We saw a few Muskies swimming and pulled the lures away from a couple of them that started following the lures. Doubt they would have hit, but its not the season yet here and we don't want to catch them now. We were lucky enough to get a couple of big Pike pushing 40" to come in and act like Muskies. One of the Pike even followed my daughters figure-8 around a couple of times. Another big Pike followed the boat for a ways. Funny. Otherwise, the fishing was slow. From what other fishermen told me at the landing, even the panfish weren't biting. The weather was very nice though and it was a real treat to just be on the water.

Location: SE Wisconsin | The wind in SE Wisc had ended a steady pattern Koepp and I had worked out for Saturday's WMT event on Pewee. A 34" on the board by 10:45 wasn't enough to get in the money, but we had a great time and saw plenty of opportunities, just couldn't make the sale to the window shoppers... Not when it counted anyways. Great time on the water as always, though.

Posts: 96 Location: Eau Claire | Partner and I won the Little Green Lake Tournament with this 43 1/4" tiger. The fish was not doing very well (only weighed about 8 or 10lbs) and unfortunately died soon after it's release. It didn't put up more than a one headshake either. Partner caught it on a Jimmy, I had 2 hits on a hellhound. Edited by Kuhly 5/17/2010 5:36 PM Attachments ---------------- Little green 2010 003 [1600x1200].jpg (97KB - 80 downloads)

I just hope its not just turtle food. That would be a shame. A ''trophy fish'' does not always have to exceed 50'' or forty pounds. congrats!

Posts: 96 Location: Eau Claire | When we found it 3 hours later He kept it. Planning on doing something with the head. Anyone have any ideas why this fish would have been so unhealthy? We thought maybe it had a parasite, swallowed a hook, or was just plain old. Ruled out spawning since it was a tiger. The rest of the the fish we saw and were caught by other boats were thick and healthy. Attachments ---------------- 43.25.jpg (223KB - 82 downloads)

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | Got on the big smallies (not too difficult under the current conditions) and are going to try and bang out a bunch of smallmouth segments before the muskie season gets going. Fun times! JS Attachments ---------------- GH51610.jpg (76KB - 78 downloads)

Wow that 2nd pic shows how sick that fish was. I would recommend a one quarter mount with about 6 to 8'' of the body showing. and at an angle out of the wall, not straight out of the wall! that way you can see at least some of the beautiful markings. Any decent fish taxidermist should be able to help you. Great fish! GREAT ETHICS!!!

Posts: 1030 Location: APPLETON, WI | +1 Awesome story. The markings on that fish are gorgeous... not sure why it would appear to be so sickly. It's a good size Tiger though but clearly unhealthy. Congrats on winning the tourney!

Posts: 2361 | My first thought would be that there is a digestive track problem, whether injury or blockage. I have seen bass that swallowed worms look like this. Might be a hook in the gut. Just speculation until he is cut open though.

Location: Des Moines IA | Jonesi and I had a pretty good weekend. Placed third in the Iowa Muskie Tourney. I caught 2 46's and a 37. First topwater fish, first Iowa fish, first Weagle fish, and my first fish in the Tuffy I just bought. Also my personal best fish by 2 inches. Here's a couple pics from the Iowa Muskie Tournament Sunday. Thanks again to Hawkeye Guide Service!
