Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Muskie Bumper Bump Boards. Come in both right and left handed boards, custom boards can be made. They are making the "Fat Boy" board for me. 10 inches wide and just plain money! No metal hinges, screwed, glued and put together like a tank. Definately a great product. You can contact Tony or you can also get them at Rollie and Helen's and Thorne Bros. as well.

Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | Brandyn Sheppard's boards are the real deal! He custom made me one dubbed "Wishful Thinking" 66" long and 14 inches wide. I'll take a photo and put it in my next post. His standard boards are sweet, and he also has 2nd south paw model. |

| I'd go with one of the Reelwise / Brandyn boards.
He will custom make them any way you want, left handed or right handed with sidewalls however tall/short you want them.

Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | Here is a couple pix of Brandyns boards - Like I said, the "wishful thinking" board he did for me was kind of a laugher because it's so big. The nice thing about though it is the width of the floor board. The belly would have to be huge to touch the carpet. Then I also have a standard board (tournament approved model) pictured in front of the WT board.

| I have 2 of Brandyns boards currently. they are nice boards, well built, he will custom make them as shown above by Jerry, I had him make my newest one with the "bump" end on the right, so holding fish w/ my right hand.
I have owned dunrights and they aren't a bad board, but I feel Brandyns are sturdier, a bit better built.

| i've got a Dunwright that's served me well.
i replaced it last year with a MuskyLink board and i've been very happy with it, it's definitely sturdier. in fact i liked it well enough that i got a 2nd one this spring that i'm waiting on to arrive.
i haven't seen a MuskieBumper, but they look pretty decent in the pictures.
it IS possible that more than one good product exists, and people eventually accept the fact that everything successful gets copied at some point. Dunwright didn't invent the bumpboard, they improved it. as did MuskyLink, etc...

Let me just make something clear...
I did not start making bump boards to copy anyone else. Sure, they were already being made, but I was told by quite a few people that Dunwright was going to stop making them. Not to mention the problems people were having with their boards or not being able to order them. Not sure if that is true or not.
I was already in the process of making one myself, so I threw a few ideas around and decided to start making some to sell at the shows in the Musky Armor booth thanks to Keith. Its helped me pay off some bills from college and I really appreciate it!
Dunwright had the only PVC board on the market for years, so I found it kind of funny to see how many people started making a similar PVC board a few months after we put the MuskyLINK/Musky Armor board on the market after only seeing one for so many years. I believe Dunwright is making one more batch, so if you are a fan of those, get one quick. Again, I'm not sure if this is true or not.
Thank you to everyone who has bought a bump board from me and the Musky Armor booth. We have sold about 100 boards already and I will be putting in an order for more material to cut real soon, so if you would like a custom order, please contact me ASAP at [email protected] or 630-885-4732. | Also wanted to mention that there will be a drawing for a free bump board at the end of 2009. It will be random and the only way you can get an entry is to send in pictures of fish measured on the bump board and pictures of you holding up fish with the bump board in the background. I will most likely give away more than one too...

Location: lansing, il | Both these guys mentioned make great custom bump boards, along with the already popular dunwrights. Both will do custom design work. Both are good people to deal with. I dont think you can go wrong with either one. I went with a Muskie Bumper board for a couple of reasons. I do like their no metal hinge system, and right handed board availibility. The carry handle is more useful than i first thought. Plus they are doing a exclusive black board only availible thru Stealth Tackle.
For you Chicago area guys interested in the Muskie Bumpers they will be availible in Fishing Connection in Tinley Park Il next week.

| Both boards come in right and left handed models. I've also made a few boards without the back wall and only a nose board. This way they can use the same board to measure fish either way without it being awkward. |

Location: Illinois | I like the muskyLINK bumpboard because I got one when the DunWright was hard to find. It is lightweight, accurate, and even floats. Customer service was top notch and it was priced well.
The MuskyBumper looks like a good product too. I'd imagine it is almost as good as the muskyLINK one and if I were a first time buyer and could choose one, I'd probably go with the most affordable product since they both look like winners.
Either one should do the trick, and both companies should thrive in our ever growing industry. It's important that we emphasize the need for every boat to have a bumpboard, boltcutters, hookout or long shaft pliers, as well as a large landing net and a camera.
I'd guess 1 out of 10 musky boats currently have a bumpboard. Lots of potential customers, and competition is always good for the consumer.

| Brandyns' boards hold my vote 100%..Lightweight, folds symetrically, large, easy reading numbers, floats, custom lefty/righty models, durable as can be, and replacement parts are alwys available. Great customer service provided by Brandyn as well. Phenomenal product. |
