For throwing downsized bucktails and spinnerbaits would you use the 300 or 400 Tranx?

I use 300’s on my long rangers with 65 lb 832. Dream setup for shallow regular swim dawgs, cranks, and blades

Hiya,

I'd say base this on your hand size. I use the 400 series tranx, which for many other companies is roughly their 300 size. If throwing downsized baits, 65 pound braid would do well. not too small to dig in on itself, but not to large to subdue the action of the bait.

I have Tranx 300 spooled with 80lbs 832 on the Long Ranger and absolutely love this setup for smaller bucktails and such.

Thanks. I have the 400A Tranx on The Jerk that I use for glides. I was thinking about getting the 400AHG, swapping the handle the the 400A and using that on the Long Ranger. My other option is to get the 300A and use it on the Long Ranger.

Any thoughts on that power handle on the Long Ranger?

I have power handles on my high speed rods and double paddle handles on my other rods. I purchased larger aftermarket ones from Gomexus which are really comfortable. Not too expensive either. https://gomexus.com/products/aluminum-baitcasting-reel-handle-tpe-kn...

The power handles I use on my high speeds are not Shimano...they are a little bigger and come from Jigginworld. https://www.jiggingworld.com/collections/power-handles-for-shimano-r...
