So I vote on the "How Many Baits" topic only to read this and realize I need to get some more - Down this road lies ruin but I'm enjoying the journey - - - -

Lac Seul Mini, if you get one that squeaks its money!! creepers, they are just plain fish catchers.

Pacemaker (Large, wooden)
Hawgwobbler
One Eyed Willy
Water Chopper

Recent additions last year were the lake X FB and CBJ with hope they will continue but hard to put those old wooden pacemakers down. Also added a wolly pog by Nimmer and am excited to retire the hawg wobbler is his bait works

Also have caught fish but less consistently on creepers and flaptails but I will admit I throw the prop baits and walk-the-dog style the most. The hawgwobbler just flat out produces but its painful to fish that slow.

my favorites are as follows:

Snodlowe original (flaptail)
Laboeuf creeper
hog wobbler
Lake X Fat Bas,,,,,,,,

Where and I fish, slow is good. Much higher hooking percentage on slow moving surface lures. Salt water spinning rods and 30# mono.

These are wonderful lil' baits. I have a handful of 'em in various colors along with a boxful of Phils other baits. Darn good baits and so well made.

My top producer has been the softail viper hands down. I also have a soft spot for the small pacemaker

I've tried them all. Last year I only threw cbjr's, fb's, and weagles. The weagle is still my favorite to throw, but the cbjr definitely has been the highest producing topwater in my arsenal.

I thought lake x were all hype too, until a buddy borrowed me a cbjr on a september weekend last fall. I've never had musky hit a bit harder than they hit the lake x stuff.

Big Mama baits are absolutely amongst my favorite line of TW's. Big profile makes for an easier target for muskies to focus in on and they move a ton of water. Lake X profiles are nice and big, too, and there's all sorts of good things to be said about them, too.

All that said, if you like to fish real skinny water, it's hard to beat a Cisco Kid Topper. It's light enough that it doesn't spook super shallow fish on the splashdown and subtle in the water, like a mouse frantically swimming. Caught a lot of fish on Toppers.
