Posts: 2 | Fishing was slow. 5 guys two boats one 47" and a 41". Only a few follows per day. Was expecting much better with the gradual cool down going on. Fished all types of structure.

Location: Eagle Lake Vermilion Bay, Ontario | now, as we speak, water temps 56-60 surface and had lots of wind, big wind earlier in week so process is under way. despite it thermocline was weak since 2nd week of sept so little dirty water, clearing already in many sections. fat clean white fish showing up now shallow from deep in last week or so. only negative is next 3-4 days E winds and 60-70's. if temps dont rise and stay same or slowly drop ok if do rise ....uuug! herbie

Posts: 238 Location: Illinois | Fished Eagle last week. Weather was pretty brutal early in the week, lots of wind and rain! Water temps were 58-59 degrees. Stayed at colegrove's off the big basin, north east side of the lake. Managed 8 muskies between the group. I got a 45" and a 43" (45" being my PB). My dad, who is a better guy than fisherman, got his 1st musky! Huge bonus for the trip!! Plenty of follows up to the boat, most lazy though. Learning a little more about Eagle every year, but the repetitive theme is, Eagle lake muskies are tough! Location: Eagle Lake Vermilion Bay, Ontario | ?????! i have seen it better ,i've seen it not as good at this time but very typical of current water temp range and the weather /wind swings from s/se to w n/w back and forth almost daily. simply it scatters fish and stalls predictable patterns. quite frankly whats supposed to be working at this time in many cases isnt ,but to a point there's something that is and good enough to fairly consistantly put some fish in the boat. example i've had 3 over 50 2 over 40# in the past week on blades not suckers or trolling. but... with some experience/knowledge and a lake as multi dimensional as eagle there's always something going, week before last 15 guys had 8 over 50, 46 caught . this week 11 had 3 50's 34 fish,27 40"+,53 " 40+ #er biggest . water temps 49-51 and slowly dropping, looking forward to next week. some of the past couple weeks fish representation on facebook, some being held back for winter content but check it out... facebook.com/AndyMyersLodge good luck, herbie Edited by Andy Myers Lodge 10/22/2016 8:16 AM

Posts: 1185 Location: Iowa | If someone wanted to go Eagle the last week of October/first week then f November sometime, which lodge stay open that long that you don't have to pull your boat every night. One of these years a group of 4 of us is going to try it but don't know who stays open that long. I've been fishing Eagle since 1993 so I know the lake very well and have found and marked most all of the "non-marked" rocks that lake has so navigation shouldn't be an issue. We go to Eagle this time of year and stay at AML (leaving Thursday actually). Like Herbie said, the docks are always in, the staff is still around, they have suckers...
