I did see some other threads about this but I wasn't clear on the answer.

Regarding the non spring loaded brake blocks - how should they be set ? Is there a "one setting does it all". I would like to use this reel for 10's. I thought between the brake adjustments and the spool tension I could dial it in to reduce backlashes. I haven't thus far.

What is the best way to set the blocks - towards the outside or towards the inside - closer to the spool shaft. Not sure which way is on or off.

The book that came with the reel is useless.

Slide them out. They willrub on the outer ring thus slowing down the spool. Start with four out, reels have been using this system for many years.

You might want to ask our reel service specialist on this web site under "Pimp My Rod and Reel -- Repair and Service". Dick (a.k.a. Pikemaster) will set you straight.
