I know the stickers are earlier, but was there a time period when Dale Wiley used this kind of hardware?? THANKS John

Looks like somebody replaced the hangers. Lots of people modify them.

That was my initial thought, but if you look close there is a groove under the hanger for the hook to freely move. The paint under the hanger looks original covering the groove. John

I'm no expert but I've seen plenty of the older wileys with hook hangers like this. The stickers are definitely authentic looking also for that time period. I would guess these are from the mid to late 80s.

Dale actually started production in 1985-86....these are still the hand cut out decals, but certainly from the late eighties...his earliest baits would have this sort of decal also including the year. The hook hangers were original luredaddy, a reflection of the popular Heddon Vamps which were most popular back in the day on the Kawartha Lakes. I have an early Wiley, I believe '85 or '86, I'll post a pic of later if I remember. Looks nothing like what has evolved to today in the Wiley line.

I have one or two older Wiley's that are built like this.
