Just got my brand new NaCl51! Love the looks of it so far. However i can't find info on adjusting the centrifugal brake. Before you call me stupid, this is the first 'spring pin' brake i've owned. Is there a certain order you change the pin settings (as in every other one in and out), or does it not really matter. what settings do you guys use on average? THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

I replied in the General Discussion forum. Typo on 2 brakes always being out, it's 3 are always out. They have springs on them, so look for those 3 then gently push up 1 of the others, with a finger or small object, until it catches. Reattach the sideplate and try it out. I use 4 out and it works for everything.

Thanks ARmuskyaddict! I saw your reply over there but couldn't make sense of it. I found some more info on it a little bit ago and now what you said makes sense! And if i understand correctly it doesn't matter at all the order or combination of the pin settings. Thanks again for your help!

From ABU your Toro reel has 6 spool brakes, 3 with springs that are on and 3 with no springs that are off. If U need more spool brakes turn on one of the spool brakes that have no spring, try the reel and if more is needed turn on more.
NEVER run a reel with NO SPOOL BRAKES on !!!!!!!!
To turn on the spool brakes push up on the plastic spool brake, to turn off push down on the plastic spool brake. Always keep the cast control knob so the spool has no side play, never tighten down tight. Also 1-2 drops of any reel oil on the brakes ring where the spool brakes open up.

After talking with pike master I need to add a little more to my comment. Definitely try out different combinations of the brakes. For me I got used to using my thumb with older reels. X2 on never tighten your cast control knob tight.
