Hey folks. Any opinions on how old a boat should be to sell it in order to get the best value? I know that's a weird question, but hopefully it makes sense. Do they drop in value faster after a certain amount of years or do they continually decline at a similar pace.

Thanks

I would think a boat would decline the most in the first 2 or 3 years. I bought a 3 year old boat kept it 15 years and sold it for what I paid for it. I then bought a 4 year old boat but will not keep it very long I have been offered a little more than I paid and what I spent on equipment upgrades and I want to go bigger.

depends on what kind of boat … some not only stay stable, but increase even 15-20 years later.

I say sell when you get the urge to buy a new boat!

If you truly love her you sell your boat when she tells you to....or when she withholds a little something something that happens after dark.
