It's been quite a while since anyone has brought this up on here (2012 I think), and I am interested in any new opinions. What do you think is the best kind of treble hook to buy to replace factory hooks? I recently had to cut some hooks and am looking to buy some replacements. Sounds like VMC, Eagle Claw, and Mustad are the most popular. Which one do you like best? Any others that I didn't mention?

Mustad 3551 and 35656... just be sure to have a good sharpener. They come dull and get dull easy but sharpen easy as well. I'll take a soft hook that dulls/sharpens easy over a hard hook that is basically worthless once it loses its point.

x2^, for price and quality and all round hook, i use mustad's 90% of the time. You can often find great deals when you buy in bulk to if you keep your eyes open.

VMC is my vote. Really sharp when you get them and they stay sharp for a good amount of time. If you are looking for 5/0 I have a bunch.

It's hard to beat L774's eagle claw.

I Do have some 3/0's, and 4/0's available.

Jdsplasher, I only have extra 5/0 right now. They are VMC 9626 trebles. I should have some extra 3/0 and 4/0 soon
