Broke my 9ft rod this morning and was looking at the Bulldawg rods. Want a St Croix but need to save a little money. Any reviews on these rods. thanks

I have a couple of buddies with bulldog rods and they both like them alot. Good solid rod for the money.

I have 3 - 8ft rods and 1 - 8'6" bulldawg rod in various actions and absolutely love the rods. In their price range, I don't think there is a better rod. The only thing I would change is I wish the butt was about 2" longer on my 8' xxh. I had bought a musky mojo rod a few years back because they're in the same price range and ended up selling it and buying another bulldawg rod. Try one I think you'll like it.

I have a couple and like them also. I agree though wish the handle was 2" longer also. The 7'6" XH is the best jerkbait rod Ive ever used.

Solid for the money. Little heavy but it doesn't bother mel. I own 5 and their my main rods. 8 ft, 2-9 ft, and 2-10 ft. No issues in 6 years. Use thru November. It's nice to have the other high end rods if money isn't an issue.

Tackle Industry rods might be an even better deal if like a fatter handle. Heard lots of good things about theses.

Seem well built but feels very tip heavy and poorly balanced and handle feels abit short. No way I'd take one over a st croix after trying one. Hold out for st croix or get a TI rod

I have a select series, overall like the rod but the tip top guide insert chipped costing me a DBL 10. Never got a call back from them. If I could do it again it would be a TI rod with the new alloy guides.

Good Rods - I owned 4 - sold one, still have 3

One of the earlier manufactures to offer the 9' rods with out having to go custom

Also, one of the 1st to offer pounder rods

Good price point

Pretty durable product for the $

Hit the market early, filled a niche that was missing, was durable, and at the right price!

Thanks MI

If the rod is for throwing bulldawgs then get a Tackle Industries XH for regular Dawgs or the XXH for magnums and pounders. Great rods for dawgs and as good as any high price rod out there.

Great rods. My 9' monster head is an awesome rod, slightly tip heavy but it's a beast when it comes to pounders and huge tackle. I have an 8' and 3 9's one of the 9's is a heavy and love it. All pro series I think. Can't go wrong.

they are the only musky rod i have ever broken. i broke 7. all were replaced through warranty program but it was a PITA to get them replaced. Hold out for a St. Croix and don't look back.

I own a bulldawg rod and it is ok. Had no issues the first Year (last year) using it, but so far this year I have had three eye guides brake on me already. IDK kind of a hassle when you want to toss big baits to constantly have to get it repaired, I don't think I would purchase one. That being said, I won it, did not buy it. I plan to get the XXH TI rod before I buy anything else.
