I'd like to know how these reels feel in your hand. Right now I'm using a Revo Toro 61 on my jerk / glide bait set up but I'm a lefty and want to try something with a bit more line pick up this season. I love how the Toro feels though. I need a wider profile reel. I love the Curado but just not for throwing jerks and glides as the super low profile doesn't work for me so I don't think the new Lexa will work for me. The Okuma looks like it will fit the bill and the three year warranty is an added bonus.

I would think (haven't handled) the Komodo 350 would have a similar low-profile shape as the Curado 301 and Lexa 300. The Lexa 400 is quite a bit bigger than the Lexa 300 which may fit you better (available in lefty with 37" of line pickup).

this is a good vid to watch to get an idea of how this reel is...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqixXb60Og4

definitely bigger than a curado and lexa

Thanks!! Seeing that video is exactly what I was looking for. It's definitely got a wider profile than the Lexa and Curado. The 400 lexa is overkill for this application.... Way to heavy to be throwing jerk baits all day which I throw 80% of the time.

I pulled the trigger on the Komodo 350. $199 on eBay including shipping. Can't wait to try it out.

I got to handle a Komodo 350 at the Chicago fishing Expo last weekend and it looked really nice and felt super smooth.I might have to pick one up also and give it a try.

Thanks for the pics Pikemaster. Is there anything about this reel that you saw that you didn't like? Can you pimp these out or is it even necessary?

I wish it came in a 5.1:1 gears. Like I said built it is. I could pimp the drag system a little and polish a few parts to smooth out the reel, but out of the box it is a FINE reel.

Cool - might have to get that done when it comes time to service it.

Is the handle long enough on these to give good leverage? With the gear ratio, would it be tiresome to fish 10's with it for a length of time? The Okuma site shows there is a power handle option also but I haven't seen a picture of it. Has anybody seen the power handle they put on these?

the stock handle is 95mm long so with DCG it will be a good work out for the day. Not sure about the P Handle ????

Thanks for yet another reply with good details Pikemaster. Sounds like probably not the reel to dedicate to 10's but should be nice for lots of other applications, especially for picking up slack line.

Mike - I'm prob still gonna pick up a Lexa400 for throwing rubber and big swim baits. The 300 looks too compact for throwing jerk baits... I like a wider profile for jerking and pulling. The 400 IMO is overkill for this. I put the power handle on my NACI Revo and it feels really nice. Gonna use that for blades. After that I'm done!! That should cover everything I need / want to throw.
