I just purchased a 2007 ranger 618vs with a 150 hp optimal. Noticed the speedometer in the dash does not work. Any suggestions on what to check?

Hiya,

If the speedometer is locked up, it very well could be due to water being trapped in the water line that makes it run. When that water freezes (if you are in a climate where that can take place) it will damage the innards (for lack of a better word) of the speedometer, thus rendering it useless...

I forgot to pull the hose on my water pressure gauge this year...time for a new one...

You may have a leak in the hose also. That's what it was with mine, actually torn

Most boats I've fished in the speedometer does not work. I have always relied on the GPS.
