I've got an idea for a bait I'm going to work on this winter.

The idea is a "crankbait", that runs upside down. It needs to sink, and the lip will be mounted to the top of the lure. When on a steady retrieve it will rise, not dive.
This would be a slow moving pitch back type lure, and would need some (a bunch) of wobble on the fall, and when being retrieved up.

It would seem like the best action would be achieved with as little weight as possible. I saw some discussing a wood type that would sink when rigged with hardware, but can't remember the name, or type of wood.

What would be the best material for a lure like this?

Won't work---well we couldn't get it---we have played with the same type of idea---but couldn't get the bait to run----Not sure but I think the weight in the bait has to be on the same side as the lip---thats what we found anyway. We only tried it on 3 different baits so maybe some more tinkering and you can fiqure it out--we couldn't. MAYbe a different line tie point might have worked--Like I said we tried 3 lures but couldn't get it to work--Good Luck and I would like to see it if you can fiqure it out
