Anyone spent any time on Clay. I hear some reports that muskies are in the lake and others say no. Has anyone spent anytime on it and have you done any good?

Clay lake is actually part of the Wabigoon River system and if you're staying at North Star they have portage lakes for Muskies. I've fished from North Star all the way to Big Canon lake and have never seen a Muskie but have caught some very nice pike.

Stayed there two years in 2001 and 2002. Caught lots of walleyes and northerns. Tried for muskies the second year after seeing one that was kept and brought back to Northstar (about 48") and hearing about a 51" that was released the same week by a different group. Both fish were caught on spinner baits/ bass gear, fishing for northerns.

Caught a lot of my notherns on shallowraiders and big spinner baits (M&Gs). No muskies seen or caught in two years by me or my group.
