Posts: 7010 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I went out a couple times, more to just get the boat wet and remind myself that the Fox Chain belongs to the powerboaters in the summer...no muskies. How did you do?

Posts: 1262 Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Hope everyone had better luck than the poor guy traveling on I39 through Wausau yesterday. His trailer broke loose and the boat ended up on top of his vehicle. Sure backed up the home bound holiday travelers.

Posts: 98 | Three lakes chain...our group of 3 boats got a 41, 35, and a sub 30. All on topwater. Weeds were a little hard to find, but topwater bite was great with fish waking or blowing up baits. Add handful of follows and some beer, brats, burgers and poker and it was a pretty good weekend!

Posts: 32798 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I fished about an hour for muskies, saw two, no takers. Took my son and grandson out for pannies and Pike, spanked the pannies and caught a couple pike, and Brian caught a really nice smallmouth. Worked on boats and stuff all day yesterday, didn't get the boat wet.

Yesterday i lost a 45 in the 8 and my girlfriend had a solid 4 footer eat her mini dussa right at her feet but was caught sleeping. All in all a great weekend and felt good to be throwin baits again.

Posts: 909 | Our boat of 3 saw only 3 muskies in 2 days on the Manitowish Chain. Fished about 4 hours on Saturday and 5 hours on Sunday. Too much fun at The Pea Patch limited our time on the water!

Posts: 62 | Fished sun up to sundown the past three days....... We saw 15 or 16 total. I lost two and the biggest to go around on a 8 was about 43. Most of the fish were small and we didn't see any over 45". By far the toughest opener I've fished. Next weekend looks warmer, so I'm due once I give my hands and arms a rest this week! I fish the Hayward/Spooner area fyi and it was cold and rainy.

Posts: 25 Location: Hayward, WI | Had my best opener ever. In just under 8 hours on Saturday, we boated 11 and saw 14 others. The biggest ones were 45, 42.5, 42.5, 42, 40.5, 39.5, and 38. I caught the 3 42s all within a half hour to end the day. Went out for 3 hours on Sunday morning and we caught 3 in the low to mid 30s and had action from 6 others.

How did you do? Never do the Fox Chain Memorial Day to Labor Day it just ain't worth it. Thankfully nobody got killed this weekend. I did hear that 2 boats collided and a girl was hurt bad. Leaving in 2 days for N. Wisconsin, me happy...

Fished the three lakes area couldn't raise a fish? Weeds growth is a few weeks ahead of other years because of low water levels and warm early spring. Scott M.

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Sounds like some of you guys had a great weekend. I made up for you. Saturday we dodged light thunderstorms most of the day and never raised a fish. Raised a hot 40 on Sunday that must have hit the bait, knocked slack in the line, and messed hooked the leader on the front hook of my Big Game Twitchbait. It followed the messed bait in hot but didn't hit in the 8. Raised something in the same spot later on that was low and slow and was probably the same fish, and that was it for the weekend. Location: Minocqua, WI | Thanks all! I tried loading pics the first time I posted but they were over 300 kb so this forum wouldnt allow it. You can see them on my website if you look at my url under my profile. It is under Northern WI Musky tab under 2012 Musky pics. Sorry to any forum admins, dont want to get in trouble by posting the link to my site in this reply. If you want a direct link to my website you can message me as well. You can also see the pics on Lake Link under the Vilas County Fishing Reports. My user name is the same. Not usually one to post too much but after a day like that... I just had to! Good luck this season!

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | We had our shots at a few but none in the net.Had all our action on faster moving baits. Two largest fish we saw was a upper 30's on a topraider and a big mid 40's on a pacemaker wich really supprised my ten year old son and he never set the hooks. Finally got back out yesterday and didn't even raise a fish.See what tommorrow brings.Good luck to you all.
