Subject: Whitefish Bay

Hi everyone, I am heading up to Hay Island on LOTW this august. Have been up there before a few years back but plan on spending a day in Whitefish Bay looking for big girls. I know the numbers will not be there, but any advice on what (weeds,rocks,reefs,etc.)/how to fish the area would be appreciated. Planning on staying somewhat close to the portage. Thanks.

i was on the south end of whitefish last year and turtle portage didnt look to promising. the ministry has really slacked off taking care of it. cant blame them with the way people treated it. good luck.

No Way I would put my boat on that portage but the rental boats at the lodge go over frequently...
