I am looking to hire a guide for some early-mid June musky fishing in the Pewaukee, Oconomowoc and Okauchee lakes area. I would like to get someone who has good knowledge and experience on all of these lakes so that we have some flexibility depending on where the hot bite is on that particular day. I also enjoy casting much more than trolling so would prefer to spend a larger portion of the day casting if possible. I have found the following names as guides who fish that area:

Ben Kueng
John Riegel
Mike Koepp
Joel Michel

I fished with John Riegel a few years back and we did well, but I am open to getting out with anyone. For those who have fished with these guides, who would be the best match for what I am looking for?

Thanks!

You would also want to check out Capt Doug Kloet, who fishes all through that area, and also makes a couple of good musky baits. He is not locked into any lake, and would know the seasonal patterns for each.

Every guide has multiple lakes they fish. Most guides are ok on all of them. Some guides specialize on one lake more than the others. I personally love Pewaukee because of all the options available. Some say its best to know one lake great than a bunch of lakes just enough.
My suggestion is to talk to each guide and see what patterns are available to you during your trip. Water temps dictate pattern changes and fish locations. June is top notch casting with lots of action. All area guides can put you on fish but some can get you more hits with specific patterns, baits and tips. Getting follows is fun but catching is where the excitement begins.

Kevin Moore guides all three of those lakes and will put you on some fish! I've also been out with John Reigel.

I think Joel Michel retired from guiding to spend time with his kids.

Indeed I did. As much as it stinks hanging up the guiding shoes, looking forward to having some fun with the chickens this year.

You can't go wrong with any of these guys. Koepp's money on Pewee for sure if you're looking to fish out there.
