I prefer fluoro, 100 to 130 lb is a good range IMO.

I tie 10" - 12" 200lb Seaguar fluorocarbon leaders using a perfection loop and a drop of glue. For trolling I tie 36" - 60" Ande's 125lb mono leader material using the same knot. All hardware is 150lb Stringease (staylock snaps and their new swivels).

I never heard of a perfection loop I'll have to look it up and give it a try

You should consider trying knotless, they are great and strong.

I use perfection loop and epoxy. The epoxy covers and smooths entire knot. Never had a failure on fish up to 48" and I use 100 pound. I just replace them often - they are cheap. You will not be able to tie flourocarbon over 100 pound very easily.

Not saying it is the best way or only line strength - just what I use.

IMO if u r gonna use 130 - 200 pound you might as well use steel as the low visibility benefit becomes negligable.
