If any, what kind of custom work have you done to your muskie boat that has made it better for muskie fishing?

well, not real glamorous, but I added stainless steel rails to my Lund with rod holders to be able to troll for muskies. I hired Mike Koepp a couple of times, and he helped me with some of the specifics like the Salty version of the Down East holders. This winter, I hope to post about ideas on customizing my Mr Pike 17' to better accommodate my muskie rods. My rig has a rod locker on the side that can't accommodate rods longer than 7'. I've got 5 casting combos and 4 (soon to be 6) combos with line counters for trolling. Storing the rod/reels I'm not using will be the next step to bettering my setup.

Converted the bow of my runabout to accomodate a casting deck, pedistal seat, storage compartments and a trolling motor. I am very happy with the way it turned out. I can put it back to its original configuration (seats in the bow) in about 20 minutes if the kids wat to go skiing or tubing with their friends.

Installed 8 tite lok tracks to gunnel. I can then "insert" different types of rod holding mechanisims, as pictured. (downrigger, rocket launcher for planer boarding, single downeast salty, or the arm you see with two downeasters, which has an oval base you can rotate about 30 degrees which allows you to better run a "down rod". This type of system (as does bert's and pursuit) allows you the flexibility of putting any mechanism in any of the 8 tracks and better yet removal at the end of the day. You can install on gunnel of boat that has existing "custom cover" because it only sticks up about 3/8" or so. Another plus is that rod holders are not in the road trying to climb in and out of the boat or in the road if you are pleasure riding with family. If you have any questions about this set-up, you can talk to me at the Chicago and Columbus muskie shows. (cant load pic wanted, too big, here's another)
