Location: Minneapolis, MN | Are there any starter kits out there for lure making? I'm not very artistic so I'll never get into anything more then spinners and bucktails. I just want to try making 1 before I decide to jump in but it seems that everything needs to be bought in bulk, some items coming in 100 packs... Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong sites? It's also hard because I don't know exactly what items I need for a spinner, size wise, and there seems to be some discrepancies from site to site in what they suggest. I've been thinking about doing this for awhile but haven't pulled the trigger because it seems kind of overwhelming.

Location: Minneapolis, MN | yeah that's the site I was looking at awhile ago but it seemed I needed to buy about half the materials in bulk. That's not a problem if I decide I want to keep doing this but for a first time try it seems a bit expensive. |

Here is another option...
Everything you need to start making your own bucktails. This kit will come with an assortment of colors in pre-tied bucktails and blades. Enough material to complete 5 bucktails.

| not sure of your location but if you are in MN and can go to Thorne bros they have singles of everthing you need to make bucktails.

What exactly are you going to try ?
Spinnerbaits or bucktails? Or both ?
I'm not sure, I really like spinnerbaits but was thinking a bucktail might be a little more interesting to build. |

Yeah I live about 30 minutes from there so maybe I'll stop by some day. I haven't been able to find their lure building stuff on their site and I was hoping to plan before I went there. |

Dick is a great man to work with.
Lure Parts Online has everything you need to make bucktails as well, incliding pre-tied flash skirts and you don't need to buy by hundreds. |

I'll look at Moore lures, I had originally looked at lurepartsonline but most of the items still needed to be bought in bulk and the initial purchase if I was doing it right was $54 which seemed like a lot just to try this out. |
