How is delivery looking for your new ride? To say sales are backlogged is an understatement.

Well...I was. Been employed at Yamaha/G3 Boats for 8 years now. Been loyal to the company for the last 15 years with the purchase of 5 boats between my Step-Dad and my employee purchase program. Went to price a boat two months ago only to be told by the GM that there will be no sales to employees for the next year due to Dealer back log,and no open slot to put me in. It's good news now,but I very worried this will all crash in the future for all recreational goods. The used market will hit an all time high

Wonder when it will be caught up with demand. One of my nephews wanted to buy a bigger fishing boat in that all three of his kids really like to fish and with the oldest being 15, they need some more space. Dealer told him he would give him a great price for his current boat but had no idea when he could get a new, larger boat for him. Rather than risk going into the spring without a boat, he opted to wait.

Used market is about to be insane for at least another year or two.

I put money down on a new alumacraft competitor 175 towards the beginning of last November. Brock at LaCanes said I could pick it up on my way to the Wausau show on March 18th. My first new boat so I'm really pumped!!

I bought a new rig in 2021 that was in stock in January 2021 at a dealer in WI. Waited several months for the H-bird graphs and Minnkota trolling motor I wanted, to be sourced through the dealer and installed. Then unfortunately had some bad components, H-bird ethernet hub and I-pilot control board, took a couple more months to get the I-pilot parts to replace under warranty. And like most everyone else that's not a pro, I didn't receive the mega-live unit I ordered in January, until November right before freeze up and haven't used it yet.
Had to fish old-school without full electronics or spot lock most of the year, but it still beat working on the days I was fishing.
Just a watch out on the electronics if you are customizing a new boat, maybe H-bird and Minnkota are catching up, but it was painful in 2021.
Also when I had the boat in for warranty work, noticed the new model year 2022's were 8-10% higher list price than 2021.

Every ten years I buy a five year old boat. Usually sell the old boat for about what I paid for it. If I stay on schedule, I would be due to make the move in 2023. I'm starting to think that may not be a great market yet, for making the move. If it's not, hopefully a year or two later, it will be a much more conducive market.

If / when I get my Lund sold (it's in the classifieds here) I'll be looking. If it's new I'll buy something off the showroom floor rather than order & waiting.

I ordered a new Alumicraft in late Aug. In late Oct I asked dealer if he could ballpark a build date, he said no clue. I've ordered 4 new Corvettes and GM gave me target production weeks well in advance of build weeks on all of them. I was wishing Alumicraft had some sort of similar forecast. I was hoping you might have some intel on tracking our boat build dates, if possible. TIA

Before I can go to a different boat, a house has to be built first to house the darn thing.... My current location I can fit what I have in it just fine... Any bigger and I will have an unhappy wife as her car won't fit and the boat will take up the entire garage...

Maybe in a couple of years. I probably will never go new again, but will continue to get into late model well taken care of rigs.

Next goal is a ranger 619 or possibly a recon 985 dual console with bubble windshields..

I ordered a new Skeeter November 1st. The latest update was that it will be finished and ready to be picked up in January, but no later than Mid-February. I have a new trolling motor, batteries, graphs and charger standing by, I'll be rigging everything myself, this alone should speed-up the delivery date.

Regarding the wait deal - I live near a bunch of boat factories, Ranger, Bass Cat/Yar Craft, Legend, and a couple more. Plus, there's an EZ-Loader trailers factory here. Every single factory has been begging workers for the last two years.

Good thing we got that big, beautiful, Mexican-paid-for wall down in Texas to keep the people who just want to work out of our country.

Well just a heads up. I got a new 1775 Lund last year, Boat was ordered Sept 28th 2020. Electronics ordered about the same time. Boat was delivered and fully rigged in mid JUNE 2021. Oh ya delivery was promised in early March 2021. So,,,,,,,,good luck this season on all your new rigs. I hope your delivery times are better than mine was this year!!!!

Just a side note I ordered a new kicker last August. Delivery date is projected for mid May 2022. Only good thing was the trade in value on the old kicker....it was insane.

Got out and started boat shopping a few weeks ago. Found a few dealers that had boats on order that could change options, colors, etc. Found a boat on the floor that was cheaper and had better options than what I was going to have ordered. I asked if it was a leftover or what....nope it was ordered in '21 and just came in a week or so....dealer was honest and kept the '21 pricing on it.(boat is a '22) I got $$ down and take delivery in spring. 1875 impact xs. BTW the boat was 9-10k cheaper than the identical one at my local dealer in Sheboygan WI and in the color we wanted. The hour drive was well worth it! So if we would have ordered this boat for spring on the current pricing it would have been around 8k more!!! Next orders dealers claim prices up anywhere from 9-20%. Shopped Alumacraft, Crestliner and Lund.

That's a true statement. I ordered this past early November and was quoted very similar to what I was looking at 2 years ago.

Was considering it. But its in the “too hard” pile right now. I ordered a new Broncos two years ago, still no ETA from Ford on it. Getting a fully rigged boat together and dealing with price inflation seems even more complicated.

I need to get a boat to get off the bank. I was originally thinking about a new boat but have reconsidered and will be looking for an older POS that floats lol. Within the next 5 years their will be a gluttony of barely used and neglected boats, bikes, and everything else that requires maintenance that people no longer have a use for or the funds to care for. I'm hoping to get a beater this season to learn the ropes with and upgrade when they become available for less than they were being sold for before all this nonsense started. All of you experienced anglers are looking for big boats for big water. I just want a 16' with a 20hp or even 9.9hp for that matter! Even a tiller at that. Lol Maybe one day I'll get to the big leagues hahaa good luck to all of us during these times

Ordered a new Alumacraft Competitor 185 tiller first week of October. Was told I should have it by march, but am extremely skeptical.

Where did you order it from? I know a place that has a couple in stock.

Was quoted by my dealer 6-7 months for delivery with chances of it taking longer…ended up buying a used 2018 Bass Cat Eyra instead.

I fish a 16'4" boat. It's rigged to the max, but a 16 footer nonetheless.

Not very many people judging by the lack of boats for sale in the classifieds. Everyone's hanging on to what they got.

Saw an ad on Facebook for a new pontoon boat, $335,000. Thinking it was a typo, clicked on it and found out that was indeed the asking price. Two 450hp Mercury motors. Who buys that kind of boat? For that price you can get a great lakes cruiser.

Mines still in there. I anticipate it will sell as we move towards spring. At that point I'm buying a motorcycle and downsizing the boat.

The prices of new keep soaring but thats not the bad part. The bad part is even if you want to pay the price they can't get it to you in a reasonable time period. I think thats where the guys selling used will have a advantage. "It's here today, heres the price, yes or no."
