I plan on fishing lake Waconia for the first time the first or second week in July. Any info would be great. (lures, colors, depths, etc).

July is iffy,, chance the water might be too hot best to post a question about temps before you come,,noted area fisheries biologist once predicted a state record might come from here with all the oily sheepshead forage but its not the lake it once was. Trolling Wiley baits fast and with a short line used to be a killer on this lake.

July will likely be tough. I've had my best luck on Waconia in the fall. If it was me, and I didn't have the option to do different lakes, I'd try at night. Also, Tonka isn't very far of a drive. Some of the bigger clearer parts may have more favorable temps. Good luck.
