Location: New Carlisle, IN | I’m going to Lac Vieux Desert next week for my first Wisconsin Musky trip. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? It will be my buddy and I with our sons, ages 7,13, & 14 so any tips on Walleye/Crappie/Bass would be appreciated too. Thanks.

Location: Apparently where the Muskie aren't | You definatly won't have any trouble finding weeds. Last time I was there, it seemed like 90% of the lake had weeds from the bottom of lake right up to the top. But I went in august and I'm sure you won't have as many weeds now. I'm sure their is musky to be caught but I personally found it extremely difficult to fish. But as far as finding panfish that lake should be great. Their is perch littered all over that lake, the larger ones are more off shore in the summer but they might be pushed a little shallower in the weather is still cool up their. | Ditto the entire west shore. Also Misery Bay on the NW side, and Duck island on the east side. It can get really rough out there with some wind. Good luck |

Location: Seymour, WI | I've had good luck in the early season on LVD, twitching small shallow raiders. I think a suick would be a good choice too. |

Location: New Carlisle, IN | No Muskie for us this trip. Didn’t get as much time in Muskie fishing as I would have liked with all the kids in the boat but we had a ton of fun catching Pike, perch, and panfish. My son lost a thick mid 30’s Musky in Misery Bay on a small perch swim bait while trying to catch Pike, which he caught about 10 Pike on. Thanks for the info guys. It was a beautiful lake, Bald Eagles everywhere. It was a lot windier than forecasted but my boat handled it surprisingly well. I’d definitely like to return but will most likely try to make this a yearly outing in the Northwoods and try a different lake each time. |
