The Professional Muskie Tournament Trail once kicks off it's season today at Cave Run Lake in Kentucky. Many anglers from the Upper Midwest have not seen open water in 5 months, which always makes this early tournament a favorite. Cave Run has been going through a draw-down stage, making muskie fishing a little tough. Fish are being caught, however, with a few big fish taken in recent days. Mild temps over the weekend and fish in different stages of the spawn should keep anglers on the move trying to find active fish. Stay tuned to MF for updates throughout the tournament.

Reports trickling in from the field indicate a slow morning with cooler temps maybe keeping the fish in a negative feeding mood. Clear skies should allow for the dark water to warm slightly as the day goes on making an afternoon feeding window a possibility.

Reports still coming in of a few fish being caught and it seems like from one end of the lake to the other. No hot areas so it's anyone's game so far.
