I am redoing a Ranger 681T to keep up on LOTW for both walleye and muskie fishing. When you are building out a boat to use three weeks a year it's going to be a combo of what is living in your shop and bargains on eBay. That is what I have going on.

Full disclosure, I am an old school trolling motor guy and replacing the existing Terrova with a Fortrex with the build in transducer. 99% of my walleye fishing is done via back trolling, use the bow mount to muskie fish. So not connecting the bow unit to "run" the bow trolling motor. Looking to have two screens in the back, one with the GPS full screen and one with the graph full screen.

The boat is coming with a fairly new HB 898 DI & SI in the stern.
I have a 858C HD Combo in a box in my shop.
Ebay provided a new in the box 959 ci HD for short $$$.

Given that the existing 898 will stay in the stern:

1. No brainer to put the 959 in the bow? Old guy, bigger screen?
2. If I put the 858 next to the 898, do you run a transducer on both? Noise?
3. Can I use the new H-Bird connector box and tie all three together?

Thank you all for the input!

You can connect the two 800 series units together with one Ethernet cable and share one transducer if you wish. If you want to connect all three units, I believe you need the humminbird ethernet hub.

Thank you, that is good news! I don't need the bow unit tied to the stern units.

No hijack.. But how are you setting up your trolling equipment on that 681t just curious I have a 681vs and I'm trying to runs tracks with trees but it's not working out to well with the very narrow gunnels..
