Want to put some type of coating on my garage floor this year. It's an older garage so the floor isn't perfect. It only holds my boat so there is not a ton of traffic on the floor. What has everyone used that works well and isn't crazy expensive?

Oil based Epoxy's, I prefer a High gloss Polyurethane Doesn't fade and is more durable than most Epoxy coatings.... Surface prep is So Important.
Don't get any Water Based products.
I've done about 500,000 sq.ft. of floor coatings including Aircraft Hangers for Boeing, Lear Jet, Cessna, Beechcraft, McDonnel Douglas. Raytheon, Air force, and others.

A good floor coating will cost around 7-10 bucks a sq. ft. Installed
I will always fill in low spots and saw expansion joints and Caulk them.
Acrylic Floor coating is another option. very durable
Check out some Show room floors and ask them what they used.. and who they hired to install them. Makes a huge difference who installs the coating system.

Andy, with all due respect, what works well IS rather expensive for garage floors. A few friends have gone the cheap(er) route and they all look like crap after 1-2 yrs.

I did the commercial thingy. $pendy but well worth it - it's the epoxy and "chips" mix that is extremely durable.

I'm too poor to buy cheap, really. These are thr local folk I used and it's wonderful and lasting.
