Just a guess how many lures do you have in your collections? How many do you bring with you on a trip?

Only bring 5 or 6 different baits on an outing. If I can't get em with those time to pack it for the day

I would say I have around 200.

I usually bring about 50 with me in the boat. I usually find myself using the same 5 most of the year though.

Four different trolling lures in various sizes and colors
Three different styles of bucktails
Three different types of Jerks/Glide baits
Four different crank baits in various sizes and colors
After 35 yrs I've learned there is NO magic bait. Now I fish what works for me period.

Right on I bring plano 3700's as well. My guess would be I have around 600 baits. Prolly bring 150 with me. These musky lures are addicting always adding to my collection.

It's gotta be a little north of 200 by now... ~50 go in my boat with me and I have a day-box I can throw about 20 in for when I'm going to be traveling to someone else's' place and in their boat.

own probably 600, in reality I could take 20 in the boat and feel pretty good I'll catch the same # of fish if I had 200 in the boat...but having lots of lures on board is fun too.

Haha yeah ain't that the truth. Not sure if I could only bring 20 lures. I troll too much and like to switch to different baits if action is slow.

I've only got about 50-60 lures, so they all come with me. Like the others said, 4-5 get most of the use.

Must cast most of the time, I can use at least 4-5 lures for each fishing season spring, summer, fall. If i'm trolling I could have at least 6-7 different bait manufactures that I use in several different colors. You never know what they might be going on.

I just went through my collection and pulled at least a hundred that will be for sale this summer for our rummage sale. I will post when I’m having it. I would guess I’m at 500 or so but I usually just bring 2 3700s with me on waters I’m familiar with.

Not sure on total number but I bring close to 200 on every outing, 2 totes with 35 tubes each, 2 milk crates with 25 tubes each, multiple baits when there is room. Multiple colors and a few duplicates, lots of styles based on size speed depth cadence rattling or silent as a bass fisherman I know some days they won't touch most things but they may be going on something else

With what i stated higher i the topic, i would ofen like to bring more, but i whats fit in my bag,
I usually bring 3-4 rods, would like a 5th musky class rod, and a 6th as en small perch/walleye rod, but it takes up way to much room in our small boats.

Completely disagree. I catch more now then when I toyed with every bait throughout the day. If you have a boat that doesn’t allow you to store your whole collection of lures don’t worry. Muskies aren’t bass and you should have a pretty good idea of what you like to throw on the your home waters during different times of the year. Keep it in the water and catch more muskies, period.

I own about 750. 110 of them are glide baits alone. I could thin the herd some there are some baits i have not thrown or trolled in awhile. Having a wide range of lakes and states that i fish, having a big arsenal helps. I will only take 30-100 lures depending on where i am going and probably only throw or troll a fraction of those based on conditions. There have been times i have put on 1 lure and not taken it off for an entire weekend because i didn't need to.

Haha we use that many at a time trolling... I don't even want to venture a guess on how many I own but bring about 100 in the boat and travel with about 2-300.

130-150 total depending on how you count them (sucker rig = lure? each swim jig count as single lure?), most of them live in the boat and come with on any given day. Many are just color variations - there are 58 different lures ignoring color.

Most of the time, 1-5 get used on a given day. Over the course a year, every bait gets used at some point. If I haven't used something for a year or two, I get rid of it.

I cast, after 20+ years I know what works for me. BTW at $(15 to 30)/each I've learned not to be the sucker at the other end. As stated about the 5 or 6 different type of baits used per outing varies with lake and time of year.

Short answer I don't have enough and never will, but I normally take too many, bait ADD becomes a problem

I agree with you while defending my post, I keep baits rolling and may only switch a couple times a day but. When you notice what nature tells you like I can and you have what it's telling you can turn a slow day into a great day.

I probably do not get to play this game... Out of packaging about 250 or so...still in packaging a little over 700,000.

I used to take a TON of lures on trips but then I got smart and just took 4x 3700 Plano boxes. Was so much nicer and lighter... On my first flyin my tackle box weighed 137lbs and the pilot had to take it in on another flight. Cost me an extra $100 for that trip...
