Message Subject: Robo handle on Net ?

I fish alone a lot and handling the Big Game and netting fish can be a challenge. I read on here where someone recommended a Robo Handle which looked like a good idea for gaining stability when using one hand/arm to net fish. I also have the issue that about 18 months ago my left hand was smashed pretty good in a shop accident, with stiches in all five fingers, a severed tendon, broken bone, etc. Healed really well but lost some flexibility and strength. I have ordered the handle and am wondering, of those that have something like this, where on the net handle do you place it? I will do some dry runs but thought maybe I could get a starting point. Thanks

The one I bought has a 4" diameter plastic ring, set back from the handle about 8 or 9 inches, that swivels. The idea is that your hand would grab the handle, and the forearm inside the ring provides stability and leverage. It attaches with two hose clamps to the net handle. Seems really solid, but won't know if it works until I actually net something! The full product name is Inline Robo Handle by Ergonomic Tools, Inc. Someone on this site had a photo of one a while back and I thought it looked like a good idea.

Posts: 770 | Put the butt of your net handle in your armpit and see where your hand ends up if that makes sense. I put a handle extension on mine too
